JARVIS
2026 · Tool · Python 3.11+, aiogram 3
A Telegram bot that manages an Ubuntu VPS by text or voice through Claude Code, with a “Socratic gate” for confirming dangerous commands.
JARVIS MK1 Lite is a minimalist Telegram bot (aiogram) that gives secure access to the Claude Code SDK on an Ubuntu VPS. Dangerous commands go through the “Socratic Gate”: four risk levels (SAFE / MODERATE / DANGEROUS / CRITICAL), and critical ones require an exact confirmation phrase; voice messages are transcribed via Telegram Premium, and before executing anything the bot asks clarifying questions. Version 1.3.x ran on a production VPS (the CHANGELOG describes an incident on 2026-02-09 and its fix); a stripped-down public copy has been published under the MIT licence.
The task
To administer a server and run agent tasks from a phone without opening SSH, and to prevent destructive commands from being run by accident.
What’s inside
- Access only from an allowlist of Telegram IDs, request rate limiting (token bucket)
- Socratic Gate: command risk assessment and confirmation; V2 — a two-phase intent check (clarifying questions from Claude Haiku for voice messages, optional for text)
- Voice messages and round video messages via Telegram Premium (Telethon)
- File handling: PDF and text (PyMuPDF), sending files back, smart splitting of long replies to fit Telegram limits
- Sessions with expiry and LRU eviction, /status, /metrics and /new commands, model switching
- Production plumbing: structured logs (structlog), healthcheck, systemd units and an install script
